It seems that everybody is peddling some miracle cure for acne these days. Every time you turn on the TV or radio you are bombarded by adds for some breakthrough drug or product that is guaranteed to clear up acne overnight. Now, there is nothing wrong with these products, but in a lot of cases they just aren't a feasible investment. You may not be able to wait weeks for the product to be shipped to your home, or even worse, you may not have the finances to afford a treatment like these. Well not to worry, because these 6 home acne treatments are just as effective as these products, and only use simple household items:
1.) CARROTS: Yep, just carrots. This vegetable is an amazing source of Vitamin A, which has been proven to improve the vitality and overall health of the skin. Better yet, Vitamin A has even been observed to fight acne directly.
2.) OATMEAL: Unlike the carrots, you won't be eating the oatmeal. Instead, you will be preparing it into a mask that can be used to help clear up existing pimples. You are going to want to take any plain oatmeal (no flavor), cook it, and then allow it to cool. Once it is at a suitable temperature, evenly lather the oatmeal onto the affected skin and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Afterwards, rinse the oats away with warm, not hot water, and gently dry the face.
3.) EGG WHITES: The proteins found in eggs have been known to send pimples into remission. Take a couple eggs, separate the whites from the yolks, and beat the whites in a separate bowl. Next, spread a thin, even layer of the whites on top of the affected skin. Let it sit for about fifteen minutes before carefully blotting the eggs off the skin with a cloth. Be sure to wash your face with warm water after the treatment is complete.
4.) HONEY: Honey has also demonstrated acne-fighting characteristics. It can be applied as a mask similarly to the oatmeal and the egg whites, but it is a little more difficult to deal with. Honey can be sticky and messy, so take precautions to only use it on the appropriate areas. You definitely want to keep it away from hair!
5.) ALOE VERA: Aloe Vera is commonly used to heal skin that has been burnt by the sun, but it is also pretty effective at treating acne breakouts. Just apply it directly to your face (or wherever you need it), be careful to avoid your eyes, and lather it on sufficiently. Afterwards, just wash it away with warm water and dry your face with a clean towel.
6.) BAKING SODA: Another common household item, baking soda has also been known to fight pimples. Simply apply a small amount of it to a damp rag and rub gently over the affected skin. Once this process is complete simply wash away the baking soda with warm water and gently dry the area with a clean towel.
These are just a few of the many effective home acne treatments that you can use to make breakouts a thing of the past!
