Acne is probably one of the most stubborn skin conditions with a high rate of recurrence. Many doctors prescribe topical and oral medications to kill the acne-causing bacteria, but they are not always successful. Besides, these medications often come with side effects. Some are hepatotoxic even, which means to say that their prolonged use can damage the liver.
According to some experts if you want to get rid of acne, you will need to deal with its main cause in order to keep the condition from recurring. The thing is, the root cause of acne may not be within your natural means to control. When dirt mixes with the sebum, the pores of the skin get clogged and the bacteria that come with the dirt are trapped inside the skin. Bacteria are foreign bodies to which the immune system of our body naturally reacts by producing more white blood cells that eventually cause the skin to inflame and erupt. This goes to show that while some people are more likely to develop acne than the others because of poor genetics or hormonal imbalance, they may be able to keep acne from flaring up by simply keeping their skin clean and healthy at all times. Following are some natural ways or home remedies that can prevent and/or treat acne flare-ups:
